Looking for an AI agency in Asheville, NC? Here's what I'd look for
Look for someone who learns how your business actually runs before they sell you anything, quotes a fixed price for the result, and is willing to say "you don't need me." Local is a bonus, not the main thing.
Full honesty: Handled isn't in Asheville. I'm in Greenville, SC, and I work with businesses outside the Upstate remotely, including a boutique in Idaho. So this is the advice I'd give a friend shopping around, whether they end up with me or not. Hope this helps.

Four questions I'd ask any agency
Their answers tell you more than their website does.
1. "What do you need to know about my day?" If they don't ask about your routine, they're selling a package. The good ones want to know what you repeat every week and where you keep track of things.
2. "What have you built that I can look at?" Not a case study with round numbers. A real thing that's live. Ours are on the built page.
3. "Is this a fixed price?" Hourly billing on a build means the risk is all yours. Ask for a fixed quote for a defined result.
4. "When would you tell me not to hire you?" If they can't answer that, they'll sell you something whether you need it or not.
If you run a shop, a rental or a restaurant
I've worked with boutiques and hospitality businesses, not with rental hosts, so here's what I'd look at first.
1. What your platform already does. Square, Shopify, your booking site, your rental platform. Most of them have scheduled messages, reminders and review requests built in that nobody turned on. Start there. It's free.
2. The message you send twenty times a week. Directions, hours, check-in details, "is this still available." Write it once, save it, and let it go out on its own.
3. The spreadsheet only you understand. If the shop's inventory or the rental calendar really lives in an Excel file, it works fine right up until the day you're out sick.
4. The part that fights you. If one piece, like the storefront or the booking flow, doesn't fit how you sell, that's the piece worth building. Keep everything else.
How Handled works with Asheville businesses
Learn what you have, pick a tool if one really fits, build what's missing.
1A 15-minute call
You tell me how a week in the shop goes and what you pay for. If it's a setting you already have, I'll say so and we're done.
2Scoping and a fixed quote
If something is worth building, we scope it for free and you get a fixed price and timeline before you pay anything.
3You send docs, we build
For a simple build, you send your business documentation and we do the rest, usually in about a week. Bigger platforms take longer.
What it costs. A custom build for an Asheville shop or rental business starts at $5,000, same as Stack Replacement. After a build, Support is $2,500 a month or Partner is $5,000 a month, and you can skip both. Everything is on the pricing page.

Is Handled an AI agency in Asheville?
No, and I'd rather say that up front. Handled is based in Greenville, SC, and I work with Asheville businesses, and businesses anywhere else, remotely. If you want someone who can stop by your shop every week, hire someone local. If you want someone who asks good questions and builds only what's missing, remote works fine.
What should I look for in an AI agency in Asheville?
Someone who asks how your day actually goes before they recommend anything, prices the result instead of the hours, shows you real work, and tells you when you don't need them. Being local is a nice bonus. It's not the thing that makes the work good.
Can automation help a short-term rental host?
Probably, but I haven't built for a rental host, so I won't pretend I have. What I'd look at first is what your booking platform already does. Most of them can send scheduled messages for check-in and checkout. Turn those on and learn them before you pay for another tool.
What would Handled cost an Asheville business?
Nothing for the first 15-minute call. If something is worth building, you get a fixed quote, and builds start at $5,000. Monthly help after launch is optional: Support at $2,500 a month or Partner at $5,000.
How does remote work actually go?
We start with a call where you show me your setup on a shared screen. For a simple build, you send over your business documentation and we do the rest, which usually takes about a week. Bigger platforms take longer, and you see the price and timeline before anything starts.
When you don't need me
A lot of small businesses can skip the agency entirely.
Your platform already has the feature. Scheduled messages, review requests and reminders are built into most booking and point-of-sale tools. Turn them on first.
You want someone in the room every week. Then hire someone in Asheville. That's a real need, and I can't fill it from Greenville.
Your booking and checkout already run smoothly. Leave them alone. Working beats new.
What changed
- October 2026: rewritten top to bottom. It now says plainly that Handled is in Greenville and works with Asheville businesses remotely. Removed city claims we couldn't back up, the hours-saved and revenue-recovered estimates, review and conversion statistics, and tool prices we couldn't verify.
- April 2026: first published.
